Let's not talk about the film The Unborn itself just yet.
This poster is a prime example of why many, MANY people hate the horror genre and do not take it serious whatsoever. Yes, the girl has a nice bottom, but what does that have to do with the movie?? Sure, just slap a ghost boy in the mirror and add a lame font with a little glow to it! Sure, that will "horror" it up. I'm scared...really.
Maybe some of you don't see an issue with the film and maybe you compare it to I Spit on Your Grave (1978). Ahem....bless your heart. Allow me to adjust your life real quick. With the film poster I Spit on Your Grave, the woman's cheeks on the poster were clearly showing as well; however, she was in the woods, perhaps the jungle. She had scrapes and dirt on her as well a pretty big sized knife with blood on it. There are other things to observe besides a pair of cheeks.
Plain and simple, The Unborn film poster pretty much shows you how NOT to make a horror film poster. Also, I wasn't a fan of the film itself, but maybe if the poster was actually creepy since the title was fine, people would have given it a chance. Maybe.
The film was released on January 9th, 2009 and was directed by David S. Goyer. It stars Odette Annable, Gary Oldman, Cam Gigandet and Meagan Good.
SYNOPSIS: A young woman fights the spirit that is slowly taking possession of her.
