'TIS THE HORRIFIC SEASON -- Conjoined Review

So, I volunteered to watch the independent film Conjoined, which was directed Joe Grisaffi. I hadn't heard of it before, but I did see a couple of pictures. I still wasn't too sure what I was getting myself into.

The film stars a lonely man named Stanley, who lives by himself and spends a lot of time in video chatrooms. There, he meets Alina, the girl of his dreams. She's sweet, beautiful and likes Stanley back! Because of this, Stanley decides to commit to her, letting her move in with him. However, Alina arrives with a secret. She has a fraternal, conjoined twin sister named Alisa! But that's not the worse part about this crazy situation!

Alisa is beautiful too, just in a different way than Alina. Alisa is not only rude, but she also has a bit of a problem. She's a psychopath looking for Mr. Right.

Stanley finds himself caught in a ridiculous, bloody life. He begins to feel desperate, and he is willing to do anything to separate his girlfriend from her gore loving sister. As always, I'll stop right there to avoid spoilers! BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO PEOPLE WHEN THEY EXPOSE MOVIE SPOILERS!

This film was darkly hilarious and very unique. The performances from the actors and actresses were awesome and believable. It is a low budget film, so of course, things weren't perfect. The body parts looked like plastic while the blood looked realistic. As the film goes on, more bizarre things happen that I couldn't take my eyes from. I hope to see more from Mr. Joe Grisaffi! Overall, I do recommend Conjoined to people looking for a unique story line. Hooray for independent films!

  1. Bizarre flick with a few great ideas and some insane humor, but overall I didn't like it as much as you.
