Upcoming Horrors for April 2012!

It's April 1st! So in celebration, let's talk about all the delightful horrors that are coming out this month! Whether it's straight to DVD or theaters, here is the list of horrors coming out this month! As always, if you've already checked any of the two out, please let me know; or if you plan on checking any out...let me know anyway!

Hellacious Acres: The Case of John Glass - RELEASE DATE: March 6th, 2012!

This film is being released by Bloody-Disgusing Studios of Bloody-Disgusting.com! Isn't that awesome? All I know is it's about a man with amnesia who wakes up in a freezer of some sort. Hm...

The Devil's Carnival - RELEASE DATE: April 5th, 2012!
It's going to be a limited release. It's a 55 minute experimental film about a carnival run by the Devil himself!

God Bless America - RELEASE DATE: April 6th, 2012!
Poor Frank who has NOTHING and is possibly terminal ill has had it with the downward spiral of America. Because of that, Frank takes his gun and decides to kill some stupid 16-year-old named Roxy who shares his rage.

Seven Below - RELEASE DATE: April 7th, 2012!
The film centers on a group of strangers. They are brought together when a terrible storm leaves them stranded in a house in the woods, Unknowingly, a terrible event happened exactly 100 years ago. So, history pretty much repeats itself!

The Terror Experiment - RELEASE DATE: April 10th, 2012!
A virus is released in the Federal Building, causing the employees to instantly become vicious! A group of the uninfected must band together and fight to get out with their lives. Seems very SciFi-ish...which isn't a bad thing!

Cabin in the Woods - RELEASE DATE: April 13th, 2012!
A group of friends at a cabin retreat discover something so horrific...it's bananas! "If you think you know this story, think again." SO! If I do know this story when I watch this film, don't worry--I'll let you know.

Detention - RELEASE DATE: April 13th, 2012!
Pretty much a slasher movie killer comes to life and starts killing off students! The students only way to survive is to slash their way out of detention!

Ghoul - RELEASE DATE: April 13th, 2012!
The film centers on a group of friends who risk their lives to stop who/what is behind a butt load of disappearances in their town. I believe this film will be shown on TV!

The Moth Diaries - RELEASE DATE: April 20th, 2012!
An IFC film features an exclusive all girls' boarding school where a 16-year-old girl records her most intimate thoughts in her diary. The object of her growing obsession is her roommate, Lucy Blake! Sounds more like a thriller/Lifetime special but hey, who knows?

Penumbra (Twilight) - RELEASE DATE: April 20th, 2012!
A business woman passing through Argentina shows an apartment to some potential renters, only to realize the clients are not who they seem. They have some evil plan for her apartment. Watch out!

The Wicker Tree - RELEASE DATE: April 24th, 2012!
A couple leave Texas to preach door to door in Scotland. After some abuse from some people, they are finally welcomed with friendliness and joy by people who seem like they want to hear more about Jesus. Of course, they're totally wrong!

Night Wolf (13 Hours) - RELEASE DATE: April 24th, 2012!
Can they survive the horror stalking them? Can they survive for 13 hours?

Death and Cremation - RELEASE DATE: April 24th, 2012!
A lonely 59-year-old man murders people he sees as neighborhood bullies. He pretty much takes a 17-year-old outcast underneath his wing and they have a killing partnership!

Apartment 143 (Emergo) - RELEASE DATE: April 27th, 2012!
Filmed like The Blair Witch Project/REC/Paranormal Activity...need I go on? Anyway, we follow scientists and their footsteps through a haunted house, where a frightening spell is casts over us all. Sounds very spooky! I love it. (Could be released limitedly June 1st, 2012!)

Happy Horror!

  1. CABIN is the movie I'm most excited about this year (next to Prometheus & Dark Knight 3)

Penumbra, Moth Diaries and Detention all look pretty awesome.

Wicker Tree looks silly and far from being as awesome as Wicker Man, Apartment 143 looks meh, and Hellacious Acres looks just stupid.

  2. I really can't wait for God Bless America. It looks AMAZING!! I've read The Moth Diaries, and it was a pretty intense book! I hope the movie is just as good.

  3. I'm so Stoked to see Cabin! I got hold of some spoilers, but I still wanna see that damn thing!

Se7en Below sounds like a flick I can check out, and so does The Devil's Carnival.

Detention is definitely a need-to-see, being both a slasher junkie and a David Cook fan!
