The 1986 cult classic Silent Night, Deadly Night is officially being remade, with a genre icon taking on the lead role! Some reports say that filming will begin next month and
Steven C. Miller is directing (The Aggression Scale).
It's going to be titled Silent Night and this film is going to star
Malcolm McDowell. The film is pretty much going to tell the story of a police department searching for the killer Santa Claus who terrorizes their remote Midwestern town on Christmas Eve. It'll be released for the holiday season later on this year.
So...yeah, just letting you know!
I'm really excited for this remake, I know it's going to be awesome. P.s. I like your new blog layout. :)
ReplyDeleteYou've been redecorating! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI've never even seen the original, although I've heard of it. Is it any good?
The original is an alright little flick, it's certainly a bit different than most slasher flicks of the time in that it follows the killer and makes them an actual 3 dimensional character, but it's still not a GREAT movie.
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot of good things about The Aggression Scale, but I really didn't like Miller's first movie (Automoton Transfusion). So who knows? I'm not writing it off yet, but I'm not exactly excited either.
I don't know what to feel. SNDN is one of my all time fave Holiday slasher (and one of the few titles I saw on my slasher bloom), so I do hope they don't screw it up.
