FILM -- Faces in the Crowd

Ok...this film was officially released October 25th, 2011 and was directed by Julien Magnat. It's pretty much about a serial killer on the loose through a town, running around slitting throats of victims without being caught or suspected. One night a teacher named Anna, played by Milla Jovovich, is walking home after a girls night out and witnesses a murder by accident. The killer becomes very obvious to Anna's witnessing his murder and begins to chase her. While in this chase, Anna somehow gets thrown into a the river and while falling she hits her head against an iron rod. When she wakes up, unfortunately, she doesn't remember faces.

Poor Anna is so shattered that she is not able to see her own face in the mirror as it reflects a different image every time. Now, there are investigators searching for this mysterious killer, while Anna is living with "face-blindness". The face blindness occurs when one facial feature changes each time Anna loses sight of them. In Anna's case, it's horrible because she could be sleeping with the serial killer.

Um...ok, so it had a really cool concept to it but I'd most likely never watch this movie again. It has its flaws but was carried with believable actors ad actresses. However! Its predictable, not really a memorable film and seems like it belongs on the Lifetime channel. But! If you do like Lifetime movies and Milla Jovovich, it's for you! Point is...if you ever have the time to watch it, I'd say it's worth a watch, though there isn't anything special about it. Anyway! I give this film 2 out of 5 queen skulls!

Film Review 25 -- Chillerama

Chillerama was officially released September 16th, 2011. It's an anthology film, which was directed by Adam Rifkin, Joe Lynch, Tim Sullivan and Adam Green. It's an awesome film that celebrates and embraces the golden age of B rated horror! It also goes through four decades of cinema with something outrageously awful for everyone!

I enjoyed Chillerama because I love cheesy horrors, and because of that, I give it 4 out of 5 queen skulls!

TRAILER -- Blood Fare

Just thought I'd share some awesome news on a horror to look out for! Blood Fare is a Civil War ghost story with a modern twist by J.A. Steel (a female horror filmmaker!!!) and Co-Producer Christian K. Koch. Set in 1861, it's the tale of Corporal Henry Trout who fought valiantly in a forgotten skirmish after the first battle of Bull Run. Then, 150 years later, he comes face to face with his descendants as the battle for blood continues on a haunted battlefield. A woman named Tyler (Brandi Lynn Anderson from the upcoming Syfy original series “ZEROS”) and her brother Chad (Adrian West) are Corporal Henry's fifth generation grandchildren. And they will challenge the legend, as the lines between the living and the dead become blurred.

The most recognized special makeup effects artists of Hollywood is Chris Hanson, who joined the crew for this film as Special Makeup Effects Supervisor. He already demonstrated his unique creativity in Hellboy, Underworld, The Faculty and many others! Also, the digital coloring was recently completed by Warner Bros. Motion Picture Imaging.

So yeah....support independent filmmakers to allow the WORLD to be more of a magical place! :)

FILM -- Beetlejuice

This FANTASTICAL film was directed by awesome Tim Burton and was released March 30th, 1988. Even though this film is over 20 years old, people will be watching it for years to come.

If you've never seen this movie, you're lame. With that said...on to the review. This movie is pretty much about newlyweds who are killed in a ridiculous car acciden. Now, they aren't in heaven; instead, they are on a looooong waiting list. So, they're ghost stuck in their used to be big, isolated home in Maitland, Maine. Before they can earn their wings, the two must occupy their old house as ghosts for the next fifty years. Sadly, their home soon comes under the ownership of the Deetz family!

The two newlyweds, horrified that they have to share their home with this obnoxious family, try to scare the Deetz family out. But their scaring tactics are insanely lame. Oober desperate, they seek help from Beetlejuice, the profane, sex craved, grossed out spirit. The issue is that Beetlejuice is not at all trust worthy and does not work well with others. He also falls for the Deetz gloomy "My whole life is a black room" daughter Lydia.

It's a wonderful movie....one of my favorites filled with awesomeness and all sorts of creatures and ghosts! What a joy! I can watch this movie back to back with no compliants whatsoever!

RANDOM! I hear that there is going to be a sequel to this movie. It was supposed to happen back in the early 90s but there were some disagreements, so the film was never made. It was supposed to be Beetlejuice in Hawaii or something, he followed the Deetz family there. Anyhow...not sure as of yet when the film will be released or even if they started working on it. But I did read that Michael Keaton wants to be Beetlejuice; so, joy! HOWEVER! It could all just be a rumor...

H A L L O W E E N            2 0 1 1

Anyway. I totally recommend this movie! This is a great movie, suitable for ANY watching occasion. SO! Yeah. I give this movie 4 out of 5 queen skulls!

Upcoming Film -- Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter 3D

Just thought I'd share news about an upcoming horror. I'm really interested in seeing this magical vampire movie. This film was directed by Timur Bekmambetov and will be released June 22nd, 2012! So look out! It pretty much revolves around President Abraham Lincoln, who is on the go trying to rid the world of vampires. The vampires are somehow involved in the conflict behind the Civil War.

This is writers Seth Grahame-Smith's revision of a Jane Austen's classic book that explores the secret life of ONE of our greatest president. It's the untold history that shaped our nation! (I'm already sold on the film! Horror making history, JOY!) As a young boy, Abraham Lincoln witnesses the shocking death of his own mother which leads him on a path to an ongoing, dreadful war and of course, to the presidency. In this film, he chronicles in a hidden journal. His journal reveals an incredible story filled with fighting for the country he led and the people he loved.

I totally cannot wait to check this flick out. It just oozes awesomeness! Please don't let me down! The only thing that isn't too appealing to me THUS far about this film is the whole 3D aspect. I'm not much of a fan of 3D...but I'm willing to be open! It could actually make it even more spectacular.
I'm looking forward to more updates on this film!

Film Review 24 -- The Innkeepers

Check out last week's Madhouse Monday's movie review on The Innkeepers! This film was directed by Ti West and officially released on December 30th, 2011. This film has an old fashioned original feel to it, which is always a plus...but it kinda left me a bit disappointed. HOWEVER! I still recommend it for a good watch! Check out my review below and see what I rated it!

FILM -- 2001 Maniacs

Thank you all wishing me a Happy Birthday! I totally appreciate it! ^_^

This movie has modern day CHEESE to it & that is why I watched it more than once. It was released in March 28, 2006 and was directed by Tim Sullivan. Eli Roth is one of the producers...which makes total sense! Plus, he makes cameo in the film, which is super cool. This is a remake, the original is Two Thousand Maniacs, directed by Herschell Gordon Lewis’. Buuuuut I never saw the original so poo for me. Anyway! 2001 Maniacs is about a group of sex craved, "I wanna party!"-craved college students.

Well, they're headed to Daytona Beach for Spring Break. You know it's coming!! Along the way they are lured into some random mysterious ghost town of Pleasant Valley, Georgia. These college kids are suppose to be guest of honor in the Pleasant Valley's annual celebration and feast. Unfortunately, Pleasant Valley isn't as pleasant as it seems. Yet, all the townspeople are still being oober friendly to these outer towners, and soon the kids start disappearing one by one. Just to avoid from spoiling the movie, I'll stop right there.

Robert Englund is in this film and his character is quite awesome! This movie has a great cast to it: Lin Shaye, Giuseppe Andrews, Jay Gillespie, Marla Malcolm, Wendy Kremer and last but not least Christa Campbell. A lot of the actors aren't well known but they do a great job. I like this movie. I know it's not the BEST movie ever but it's enjoyable to me. It's fun & filled with soooo much gore; it's down right incredible.

Overall, it isn't the BEST movie ever but it's a bloody feast filled with some humor. A perfect time to watch this movie would definitely be now. I give this movie 3 out of 5 queen skulls!

Have you seen the movie? If so, what are YOUR thoughts?

Happy Birthday to me!

Happy Birthday...!
Today the Real Queen of Horror was born!

Sometimes I really do dislike where my birthday falls because I always feel that January is the recovery month: recovery from your finances being shot from Christmas, unwanted house guests, and even recovery from completely going off your schedule and not doing what you usually do! Also, another reason why I dislike it is because I'm usually older than people who were born the same year as myself.

I'd usually feel like an oldie mcHOLY pants. So not fun. :\ HOWEVER!!! I always did love where my birthday falls because it's a brand new REFRESHING year! Some people feel guilty for forgetting my birthday so I usually get awesome gifts. ^_^! Also, because my parents wedding anniversary (34 years!!!) is on the 8th, I not only get gifts for my day, but I also get gifts for theirs, too.

This birthday is going to be fantastical! One day, January 6th will be a national horror holiday! So, mark your calendars! This is the day to watch a horror movie of your choice, in honor of ME! Just thought I'd share!
