Guest Review Post -- Tyler from FunwithHorror.com
Here's a guest post from Tyler (FunwithHorror) on John Carpenter's The Ward! He's one of the coolest horror bloggers I know! Enjoy!
John Carpenter's 'The Ward' is the tale of Kristen, a troubled young woman who can't seem to behave herself. Kristen finds herself a guest of the Oregon Mental Health System. Not sure how she got there or why, Kristen struggles to fit in. Once situated, she attempts to find out what's behind her memory loss. Compounding her troubles, Kristen finds that she and several other female patients are being tormented by a vengeful spirit. As the young ladies grow closer to discovering the origin of the rancorous specter, they grow closer to a premature demise.
I liked The Ward. It's not without its flaws but it's not a bad movie. The effects are well done. The cast, led by Amber Heard, was well chosen. John Carpenter provides keen direction. The premise, although not terribly original, plays out nicely. My only real complaints are the ending, which has been done before, and an overall lack of originality. John Carpenter didn't pen the script, so I cannot blame him for the film's shortcomings. For those, I blame Michael and Sean Rasmussen, who did write the script.
Overall, it's a good watch. It was a thrill to see something new from John Carpenter, even if he didn't pen the script. Also, scream queen Amber Heard turned in a very enjoyable performance. It's not a perfect film, but The Ward is worth ninety minutes of your time. It's more thrilling than gory, so it will appeal to more than just the genre enthusiast. If you haven't seen it, take a look. It's currently available to stream on Netflix.

Film Review 23 -- Dylan Dog: Dead of Night!
Check out this past Madhouse Monday's movie review on Dylan Dog: Dead of Night! This film was based off an Italian comic by Tiziano Sclavi! The film was released April 29th, 2011 and directed by Kevin Munroe. This film had potential but it slacked major. Brandon Routh, in my opinion, was just not believable. Possibly if it was someone else casted as Dylan Dog maybe the film would have been successful.

Top 10 Zombie Films!
So, Creepmas is over! I must say, I didn't do a dandy job at sticking with my commitment with these 13 Days of Creepmas posts and do to that, I apologize! Thanks for those who did enjoy the post I did put out! So with that as a treat, I present to you the TOP 10 Zombie films!
This is a list of top 10 zombie films in my opinion that MUST be seen! Every horror fan....not just horror fan, EVERY film fan should really check out these movies as soon as he or she can! That is because I tried to put together a list of zombie films that are more than zombies running a muck, but a real zombie conflict filled with rabid zombie attacks where the living fight purely against the living dead. Doesn't that sound awesome?
Each movie that I listed have a great gore and kills, but I will not spoil that for you! As always, I rather you check it out yourself and you can be the judge, if you please! Anyhow, just remember while watching these awesome films, who recommended it! ;)

10. 28 Days Later -- 2002
An amazing updated zombie flick that is full of gore and running zombies. Yes, I know some people do not believe in running zombies...but aren't they cool? This film added something spectacular to zombies and indeed added fear to these new breed of zombies!
9. Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things -- 1973
It's a B rated film but should definitely not be swept underneath the rug! This movie involved an ancient ritual and clearly shows WHY you shouldn't do that kinda stuff!
8. Night of the Living Dead -- 1968
The black and white in this film shouldn't stop you from checking out this classic. It even still holds itself up high compared to the movies today.
7. Night of the Living Dead -- 1990
This is Tom Savini's magical, horror-a-tastical remake that was meant to be a tribute to the classic and truly is! Very entertaining and perhaps better than the original!
6. Day of the Dead -- 1985
George Romero did some awesome camera tricks to create the zombie infestation in this classic. This is a great living dead classic that shows how quick and easy zombie infestation can occur and, of course, what happens.
5. Dawn of the Dead -- 1979
Another Romero one and slightly different from many, MANY horror movies. Romero shoots this film a majority of the time in broad daylight or bright areas. It's very rare that a horror director isn't interested in the shadows or darkness. Very awesome that he did that. This film is kinda silly...well at least to me, but then again I laugh at inappropriate moments/things anyway. It focuses on a mall with survivors trapped inside and zombies nearby.
4. Dead Alive -- 1992
If you can honestly stomach gore...this film is the one for you!
3. Zombieland -- 2009
In comedy/horror the world is over run by zombies and there are rules to follow!
2. The Return of the Living Dead -- 1985
An awesome CLASSIC and a must see! "Send more paramedics!"
1. Zombie -- 1979
Lucio Fulci....allows all your gore dreams to come true! Fulci's zombies are oober slow, even slower than Romero's zombies, which isn't a bad thing! As the army of zombies come shuffling all stiff towards you, watch out, you may be creeped out!
Clearly! If you made it through the whole list...you MUST be a zombie fan! Well rock on. I know I missed many, but just let me know what your TOP 10 Zombie Films are!

Day 5: Saint Nick theatrical trailer -- 13 DAYS OF CREEPMAS
Here's a great film recommendation for Creepmas! Saint Nicholas is not the good-hearted children's friend as people think he is. In reality he is a cruel bloodthirsty bishop! On the night of December 5th there's a full moon and Saint Nick will try to slaughter as many children as possible!
This movie was written and directed by Dick Maas. It was released in Holland last November. The trailer is below and it has English subtitles, enjoy and you can thank me later!

Day 1: Top Christmas Horrors !! -- 13 DAYS OF CREEPMAS
Tis the season to be jolly and, of course, to endure fake smiles. HOWEVER! That doesn't stop the Christmas season because around this time there are plenty of Christmas themed horror movies to watch! So, with that, we shall begin this spectacular bloody, horror Christmas list. This is in NO order particular, just a list from which you can pick whatever movie(s) you wish to watch! There are some cheesy ones in this list...but I adore cheese.
Two Front Teeth - 2006
On the night before Christmas, a tabloid writer haunted by the Ghosts of Christmas past is investigating a Yule Tide conspiracy.... Oh yeah and there's a blood sucking, vampire Santa Claus involved, along with other demonic creatures. o_o!!
Silent Night Deadly Night - 1984
A teenager's parents were murdered. And while in the orphanage, the teenager was abused by the Mother Superior. This tormented teen decides to go on a murderous rampage dressed as Santa.
To All Goodnight - 1980
Christmas break at the Calvin Finishing School for Girls is visited by a pair of vengeful psychopaths both dressed as Santa Claus.
Gremlins - 1984
A man buys a cute, furry little creature with huge eyes (mogwai) as a Christmas present for his son. The boy is told to keep the pet away from water, out of the light and never to feed it after midnight. Of course, those rules aren't followed! So yeah, the creatures produce half a dozen furry replicas of itself and continue to multiply and turn the small town upside-down.
Black Christmas - 1974
It's time for Christmas break and the sorority sisters make plans for the holiday, but the strange anonymous phone calls are beginning to put them on edge. A missing sorority girl, and dead bodies popping up among other things...! A true classic and a must see for the season!
The Gingerdead Man - 2005
Three executed murderers whose remains are stored in a vat of pastry batter return as evil cookie monsters ready to kill. Lol.
Santa's Slay - 2005
A black comedy about Santa Claus, which is played the wrestler Goldberg, turns out to be the son of Satan and not the harmless old fellow we know and love. So yeah, he goes on a deadly rampage.
Don't Open Till Christmas - 1984
Someone with no Christmas spirit is killing anyone in a Santa suit in London. One man has to stop this killer before he makes his exploits an annual tradition.
Jack Frost - 1996
A horror movie involving a killer snow man. Look out!
Christmas Evil (You Better Watch Out) 1980
It's a dark comedic horror but has awesome Christmas horror efforts. It's a story of a boy who loves Christmas but is scarred when he learns that Santa is not real. When he gets older, he becomes a toy-maker and tries to make the Christmas spirit a reality. He becomes obsessed with the behavior of children and the quality of the toys he makes. Fast forward...he's on to become a serial killer.
