In honor of Thanksgiving!

Let us all give thanks! Yes, to our families, friends, homes, BLOGS, horror movie collections, and most importantly, the directors that made our beloved horrors possible. I thought it would be a super idea to give thanks to all the directors that I feel made my horror world even more fantastical!

Wes Craven

There are so many films he directed that I absolutely love, & he made horror history that spanned beyond the die hard horror fans. So! Let us GIVE thanks!

Alfred Hitchcock

Of course, I'm going to want to give thanks to a legend! An all-around awesome filmmaker. I aspire to inspire many people as he did! He created shocking suspense with an eerie feel...AND some of his movies were in black & white. Amazing!

Lucio Fulci

The man of gore! Without him I would have never known my true love for gore. So, thank you, Mr. Fulci. Thank you for rocking my life!

Dario Argento

Mr. Argento is one of my favorite directors, and I can watch ANY of his movies with no complaints. He's also a fantastical writer. His films are usually very awesome with explosive endings. Oh, and let's not forget his snazzy music!

Sam Raimi

Not only did director one of my favorites Evil Dead but he introduced us ALL to Bruce Campbell!

John Carpenter

I love how diverse his horror movies are, to me--you never know what you're going to get with him. He's extreme influential plus he came out with many cult classic horrors, in MY opinion!

George Romero

Another legend! He's like the zombie king or something. He totally deserves for us to be thankful for him!

Tobe Hooper

He truly understands violence & gore, and if that was not in horrors...it would be a cold lonely horror world.

Eli Roth

I don't care if some people don't like him. I like him and therefore, he's on my list of people I'm thankful for. I'm thankful that he truly worked his way into the horror world. He wasn't always directing, and for someone who didn't start off as a director, I truly believe he's doing an awesome job.

Ti West

After seeing The House of the Devil, I knew automatically that if I ever did a Thanksgiving list of honor, he'd be on it! He was the director, writer and editor of The House of the Devil! I believe he's going to be a legend one day too.

I decided not to let this list be a count down because this isn't necessarily about my favorite directors or who I think is the best. This is simply on who I'm thankful for!

Gobble, gobble...

Which director are you most thankful for & why?

The Active Set - Famous For Dying

I feel so awful because a couple of weeks ago I received an email from Steve from IndieRoque. He gave me a link to an awesome band to check out. The band is called The Active Set and the video he wanted me to check out was called Famous For Dying. This video rocked my life--not only for the music, but also because the video has zombies in it!

I enjoyed the song and I enjoyed the music video. So! I thought it'll be an awesome idea to share it with everyone here. I thank Steve for putting me on to an awesome song! I hope you all enjoy the song/video and you can thank me later! :P

The Active Set may be too mainstream to be true 'indie'; however, they have enough quirky and unconventional bits, making them too indie for the mainstream. Result: Limited fanbase!

Film Review 20 -- The Shining

REDRUM

I did a review on Monday on Stanley Kurbrick's The Shining! A film that is filled with ghost, a magical child, dripping dead old women, splashing blood and oh so much more! I thought it was a good movie but I'm not crazy about it. One thing, I was crazy about was the soundtrack. The score to my ears was simply perfection.

Have you seen this movie? Or read the novel?

Upcoming Horrors of November 2011!

Whether if it's straight to DVD or the theaters, here is the REALLY short list of horrors coming out this month! If you already checked any of the two out please let me know! Or if you plan on checking any out...let me know anyway.

Melancholia - Release date: November 14th, 2011

This movie will be released limitedly. This film is described as a beautiful movie about the end of the world. The story is about how a large object from outer space approaching Earth that will affect us all. Doesn't really sound like horror but I do think there will be some horrific points.

11-11-11 - Release date: November 11th, 2011

11-11-11 will take on the idea of 11 gates of Heaven and how on 11:11 on the 11th day of the 11th month, the 11th gate will open up and something from another world will enter the earthly realm for 49 minutes. I'm hoping this movie doesn't let me down, I always had a fascination with 11:11.
