If you're a fan of films from The Sleaze Box, you should definitely know what to expect with Chaos A.D.! For the uninformed, The Sleaze Box makes horror films full of brutality, graphic nudity, sex and even rape. Of course, their movies aren't for everyone, but if you feel like you can handle it, please continue on!
Chaos A.D. follows people who were kidnapped and abused on Halloween night by a group known as F.R.E.A.K. (Fucking Reckless Extreme Asshole Killers). The film begins with brother and sister, Vinnie and Sarah Russo, who are getting ready to attend a Halloween party. Vinnie and Sarah appear to have a normal brother and sister relationship, an older brother who's all about giving his little sister a hard time. We then meet battered house wife Janet Loomis, who just murdered her husband. At first as the viewers, we don't really understand why she decided to do it, but we'll learn! Finally, we meet dirty politician, Jack Foley, who's addicted to prostitutes and yelling.
Within the first 15-20 minutes of the film, all of these individuals are snatched up by the group of F.R.E.A.K., who consist of Bytch (yes with a 'y'!), Vixen, Uncle Lester, Lilith, and Misery. The brother and sister, battered house wife and dirty politician are taken to a mysterious warehouse and the chaos begins! The only chance they have of escaping alive is to be just as brutal as their captors.
This movie is definitely not for people who have weak stomachs! There are things that will stick with me for the rest of my life such as exploding boobs, bitten off nipples, ripped off genitals, people urinating on themselves, sodomy with with a strap on covered in nails, rape scenes and so much more vile scenes. The violence in this film is top notch. There are plenty of twisted characters and lines in this one. The acting isn't top notch; however, each character had his or her own personality, including the psychopaths F.R.E.A.K. The rational leader Bytch was sadistic and even told one of prey that the reason she was doing this is to take away her innocence. Even though Bytch was everything her name implied, she was my favorite psycho. I feel that her character had so many layers. Although as the viewer, you see her doing these awful things, you can't help but feel sorry for her at times.
The other killers had their personalities as well. Vixen was the happy, unpredictable one who wanted to kill everyone. The creepiest one had to be Uncle Lester. Uncle Lester was a serial rapist with no remorse. Lilith was the hungry cannibal and Misery was the giant. The group of killers definitely had a good mix going on, which helped the film remain unpredictable. It's hard to single out one performance because I had a couple of favorites: Lisa Marie Kart (Sarah), Ashley Lynn Caputo (Janet), Cayt Feinics (Bytch) and Bob Glazier (Uncle Lester). I really felt for Lisa Marie Kart and Ashley Lynn Caputo's characters. They literally went through hell and yet they were able to maneuver from helpless to vigorous fighters, ready to be remorseless. The music in this film is awesome and definitely has a giallo feel. Although this film is low budget, the gore was done very well.
Overall, I enjoyed Chaos A.D. and recommend it to those who enjoy sadistic horror films with a ridiculous amount of nudity and brutality. Truth be told, I usually don't like films like this. Yet, when I met the director Chris Woods, I was extremely curious to see what he came up with. I'm really hoping for a sequel since the ending definitely left me wanting more. Due to this movie, I'm looking forward to checking out other films from The Sleaze Box.
